An ocean full of microplastics? Countdown to the 2022 ceremony on Nov. 29 at 15.00 PM (CET). It’s a virtual event – we invite you to attend!
The nomination period for the 2023 award is closed. Now the work has started for the Scientific Committee to screen candidates. Later, they will present their suggestions to the Prize Jury, which will make a choice.
The span of disciplines and activities for which nominations can be made is broad and includes all fields relevant to the environment and sustainability.
During the 33 years since the first award, there have been laureates selected in research areas such as, among others, atmospheric science, biodiversity, ecosystem services, environmental economics, energy efficiency, green chemistry, microplastic pollution, resilience theory, and sustainable urbanization.
The research of nominees should be based on scientific grounds but must clearly show impacts outside the specific discipline. Read here for more information on how candidates are selected and the Volvo Environment Prize criteria.
