The Volvo Environment Prize event 2023 starts soon.

The International Prize Jury

The Prize Jury, chaired by Professor Deliang Chen, selects the laureate, or laureates, for the annual Volvo Environment Prize. The Jury submits its recommendation to the Foundation Board for the final decision.

Professor Belinda Reyers

Belinda Reyers is a Professor of Sustainability Science at the University of Pretoria in South Africa. Her interdisciplinary research focuses on linking ecological and social systems to inform policy and practice needed to navigate the complex development challenges facing Southern Africa.

Deliang Chen is a Professor at the Department of Earth System Science, at Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. He is an internationally renowned climate researcher with extensive experience in science for policy.

Johan Rockström is Director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, a Professor at the Institute of Earth and Environmental Science at Potsdam University, and a Professor in Water Systems and Global Sustainability at Stockholm University.

Norichika Kanie is a Professor at the Graduate School of Media and Governance, Keio University, Japan. He is also a visiting professor at the United Nations University Institute of Advanced Studies. His areas of expertise include Earth System Governance, global environmental politics, and multilateral diplomacy with a particular focus on climate change.
