The Volvo Environment Prize for 2003 was awarded to Professor Madhav Gadgil and Professor Muhammad Yunus for their path breaking work in the field of Poverty/Environment Interaction. Their imagination, courage and vision, grounded in the hard practicalities of the real world, have made them true and worthy scientists of the poor.
