Professor Hans Joachim (John) Schellnhuber John Schellnhuber is Director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) , a publicly funded scientific institution characterized by its interdisciplinary approach and policy relevance. He is also a Professor of Theoretical Physics at the University of Potsdam, outside Berlin, and External Professor at the Santa Fe Institute, USA.
